NEUTRAL COLOUR MATCHED IN-FRAME KITCHEN
Nestled in the countryside, this elegant traditional in-frame kitchen designed by Steve Smith, sits inside a beautiful manor house in the picturesque South Hams.
THE DESIGN
Our customers wanted an in-frame kitchen with a dedicated dining space, but they were unsure about the exact design at first. They sat down with designer Steve Smith and opted for our bestselling traditional door, Rougemont, in a neutral tone. We then colour matched this with the Little Green Paint Company’s Ceviche. The shade ties in seamlessly with the surrounding colour palette of the walls, floor, and worktops.
Initial plans to house the ovens and hob in the existing chimneybreast meant structural changes to the chimney. Steve offered the customers the choice to house the ovens in the island. This worked well with the customer’s vision and eliminated the need for structural.
THE RESULT
The finished kitchen and dining space offers a fresh and airy take on the traditional family kitchen. Characterised by the neutral colour palette and intricate detailing of the Rougemont door style and accessorised with brass cup and knob handles.
The bright colour-matched cabinets complement the Ammonite Tuscany Quartz worktops and stone flooring. Working together harmoniously, they serve to further open up the space in which the family can leisurely cook and convene. Small details such as the intricate grooves and beading on the cabinets and the pelmet detailing, seamlessly integrate with the original ceiling coving. The Tamworth mantle above the hob, with its rounded edges, makes the kitchen even more homely.
Steve’s design sympathetically positioned a built-in down draft extractor within the induction hob allowed space for an elegant mantle shelf on the existing chimney breast. This negates the need for an extractor fan above the hob which would otherwise spoil the clean and traditional look the customers had envisioned.

The full-height bespoke larder with it’s real-wood spice racks and dove-tail drawers allows the family space to store everyday appliances and food items within easy reach whilst keeping their kitchen clutter-free.
